Chris Zabriskie

An independent artist in the best meaning of the word, the American Chris Zabriskie – born in 1982, in Olympia, Washington – started out in a rock noise duo called Struggleburger. Even though his attention was focused in the style celebrated by alternative acts, always working with other musicians on the same vibe (like Marc with a c, an indie pop singer), it was in the instrumental music arena where Zabriskie set his feet firmly on the ground – recording, in 2009, the album The Dark Glow of the Mountains. His style cemented itself in ambient music and in ethereal soundscapes close to atonalism. Two albums followed his debut – and their electronic minimalism was set against his previous work –, helping to solidify his liveliness of autonomous creativity which has been a characteristic of his efforts ever since, always under the new ambient kind of music.
